FC100 flies in Denmark

Flowcopter has demonstrated their latest uncrewed aerial vehicle “UAV” at the UAS Denmark Test Center at Hans Christian Andersen Airport in Odense.

The FC100 answers the multi-application demand for greater utility in net zero ready uncrewed aerial vehicles UAV with a headline capability of moving 100kg of cargo for a 200 kilometre round trip. Bringing longer endurance with lighter loads and greater lift capacity for short hops (150kg), for those following the UAV evolution, the FC100 moves beyond the established lighter weight vehicles currently solving intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance “ISR” questions, it is a genuine game changer in UAV utility and the multiple application environments.

The FC100 offers a significantly lighter, more robust and lower cost solution not only replacing the reliance on helicopters at the lower end, ferries at the higher end, but opening up new possibilities in logistics scheduling and essentially step-changing the Delivery Experience “DX” that can be offered to the end customer.

Flowcopter’s novel technology uses a lightweight hydraulic drive train already proven in harsh environments. The team have now moved past their prototype testing and have frozen the design to enter production.

Peter McCurry, Managing Director commented: “I am delighted that we could showcase our FC100 to European customers and for the reception and resounding endorsement we received. We are confident in the robust performance of our uUAV and its application-rich utility. We have moved our attention to expanding the production capacity at our manufacturing base. We remain confident in our engaged team scaling this compelling story, a step change in uUAV utility and Delivery Experience “DX”.”

The FC100 was born out of the need for robust, heavy payload uncrewed platforms with greater endurance, in markets traditionally requiring helicopters such as search and rescue logistics and humanitarian aid. But it certainly doesn’t stop there, this newcomer to aerospace original equipment manufacturing “OEM” has already received strong interest from customers in different vertical markets including offshore wind farm operations, agriculture and urban air mobility (UAM).

The lightweight and robust uUAV brings new capability to multiple sectors and their vast array of applications. The FC100 adds utility to the logistics schedule rethinking how cargo up to 100kg can now be delivered.
